Hi, I am Mary Howerton, the food service director for Fort Ann School. I have lived in this great community for 32 years and raised both of my children here. I started working in the school kitchen 25 years ago and with experience and dedication, worked my way to the director position.
I can truly say I come to work every day loving my job. I love seeing the kids come through the line and getting to know them. They truly brighten my days. I enjoy knowing that I am nourishing the youth of our Cardinal community. I enjoy working in this small-town where everyone knows everyone, and you know that you are doing a good deed for your neighbor. My favorite benefit to my longevity in the school is that not only did I get to see my kids and their friends at school each day, I now get to see their kids grow up as well.
